JOB PURPOSE
To support Atlantic Datas Management Team in the strategic and operational management of the Customer support centre. In particular, this will be achieved through the training and
development of employees and the Department as an organisation, and the line management of employees providing administrative support
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the organisations development of human resource strategies, policies and standards in the following specific areas:
Recruitment - To develop and maintain a Departmental Human Resources Strategy, which identifies the human resource requirements of the Department and the ways in which these needs will be met.
Planning - To contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of quality and performance standards relative to the areas of work concerned
Training - Support personnel in their future roles through the identification of training and development needs and ensuring that these needs are met by implementing appropriate training and development initiatives.
Employee/Customer Relations - To provide a high level of customer care
Pay and Performance - To set Departmental targets with regard to Human Resources and Organisational Development, to monitor and report progress in achieving targets, and to maintain an overview of Departmental performance in these areas.
Management Development - Analyse the proposed business activities of the organisation and determine what organisational/team/individual development will be required to support these. To support the preparation of annual budgets. To manage the budget for your area of responsibility in accordance with Accounting Instructions and management reporting procedures. Health, Safety and Welfare The management of health and safety and undertaking of responsibilities for ensuring that risk assessments are made and action taken; that appropriate information is prepared for, instructions, training and supervision are made to ensure the health and safety at work of those employees for whom they are responsible.
Other - Any other duties and responsibilities, which will assist the Division to meet its objectives or which contribute to the postholder's personal development.
This job description will be supplemented by annual individual outcomes that will be developed in conjunction with the postholder.
It will be subject to regular review and the Council reserves its right to amend or add to the duties listed.
The postholder's principal role will be to develop and co-ordinate the implementation of
Human resources strategy projects and initiatives that improve structures or procedures, at
the request of senior managers across Environment. the management of the Departmental Training Budget. professional and technical support to ensure the organisations HR function is efficient and effective.
Health and Safety procedures, to ensure that a priority is given to the management of health and safety for ensuring that risk assessments are made and action taken; Working practices that minimises additional workload and pressure for other Units. Good working relationships are maintained with all Divisions of the organisation, in order to promote confidence in
service provision and the Division.

The postholder will also possess the ability to produce innovative organisational development solutions to support the Organisations progression. Possess detailed knowledge of the learning cycle including training needs analysis, learning and evaluation methodologies.
Possess good interpersonal, negotiating and decision making skills in order to be able to engage with senior managers, Directors
To continue to develop skills and knowledge.
Qualifications Required
Generally educated to degree level or equivalent standard.
