He /She will Manage the Employment related legal issues of the company and will be
Responsible for the statutory compliance of Employment related Labour laws prevailing in India . Will be responsible for formulating strategies in case of legal issues, guiding the India Management to resolve the same by devising a legitimate, yet optimum solution.
2. Key Accountabilities
Deliverables
. Represent Domestic Enquiry as a Management Representative
. Give Case briefings to Company Advocates
. Identify and validate the Advocates for representing the Company case in Labour/ Industrial/ High Courts or any other adjudicating body. . To frame and administer the Disciplinary action in line with the Service rules/ Standing orders
. Escalation of any potential legal threats to Senior Manager Human Resources with a proposed action plan.
. To liaise with Legal machinery
General Management
. Collate and provide timely and accurate management information to Senior Manager Human Resources . Support Operations/ Research team in resolving legal complications pertaining to Employment relates issues
3. Person Specification
Experience
. A minimum of 5 years experience in Industrial Relations, most of which should be in a Legal related role. . Exposure to liasioning with Conciliation Officer, Labour Commissioner, Labour Court, Industrial Court, various other Commissioners under labour laws
Essential Skills
. Exceptionally good spoken and written English.
. Solid grasp of Legal fundamentals and adjudication/ conciliation processes, experience of registering under various Shops and Establishment acts in India . Understanding and appreciation of Industrial Relations issues surrounding the Company. Some experience of settling Out of Court matters is essential. . Understanding and experience of Legal issues and challenges. Some experience of dealing with Trade Union / Collective bargaining is highly desirable. . Basic Computer skills viz. Microsoft Office, E-Mail systems, Internet etc
Desirable Skills
. Good awareness of Business implication of any legal decision . Good Spoken and written Gujarati Education
. Post Graduation in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations . Degree in Law desirable
