Client’s Equity Division is responsible for managing more than 129 diversified mutual funds and over 60 industry specific funds. Assets under management total more than $702 billion. The Boston department consists of over 100 Investment Professionals including Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Research Associates.

The Position
Location- Bangalore (Frequent travel to Boston is mandatory)
Role – Will Head the Equity Research Division with Sector Specialists and Sr Secor Specialists and will provide general equity research support to the Equity Research Analysts and Associates based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Desired Experience range – 8 to 12 years
Ideally candidates from tier-A B schools and currently working with any leading KPO’s or Learning centers of BIG-5.
Remuneration is not a constraint for the right fit.
The responsibilities include the following:
Gathering important industry data related to the assigned sector to support Research Analysts and Associates with stock-specific and industry presentations.
Creating business profiles for individual companies in the assigned sector with an emphasis on highlighting competitive positioning, geographical and segmented financial information, profit margin analysis, balance sheet ratio analysis and uses of cash flow.
Updating valuation and sector sheets for the Research Analysts and Associates on the sector team.
Building historical financial models.
Working closely with other Sector Specialists (both in Bangalore and Boston), industry sources and Wall Street contacts in order to gain important insights and knowledge within the assigned sector.
The responsibilities of the Group Leader would include the following:
To help build, provide leadership and direction to a set of highly skilled sector specialists supporting the sector teams as well as the diversified teams.
Coordinating the efforts of the India-based Sector Specialist team supporting a sector research team in Boston, as well as with the diversified teams.
Working with the Research Analysts and Associates in addition to the Sector Specialists in Boston to assess the near-term and longer-term support needs of the team.
Integrating the work of the other Sector Specialists and Analysts in Bangalore to provide a global perspective on the industry and/or sector.
Attending important trade shows and conferences in India and Asia to gain insights on the global industry landscape.
Helping with Professional Development and career path of the Analysts
The Group Leader will need to be able to work independently with little direction. This position is expected to work directly and closely with more senior staff members and must be able to think, act and respond accordingly. The Group Leader also anticipates potential issues and is able to both resolve and/or collaborate to resolve a problem or issue. This position is expected to make decisions that are aligned with Fidelity’s values, goals and strategies and its customers.
Qualified candidates should have an MBA or CA degree. CFA is highly desirable. The candidate should have 8+ years of demonstrated quantitative analysis experience out of which at least a year should have been spent at a leadership level. Experience in building a team, giving direction, managing internal customer expectations and delivering results through a team is a requisite. The successful candidate must be a team player, able to juggle multiple projects, able to work under pressure and time constraints, and possess strong communication skills.
The position will require a high degree of co-ordination and communication with the US – some amount of cross-border experience is essential.
