Fidelity's Fixed Income Division is one of the country's leading fixed income managers with over $450 billion in U.S. and Canadian dollar denominated bond and money market assets managed by a staff of 100 professionals. Resources are focused on providing fundamental, quantitative and macroeconomic analysis. Research is solely for the fixed income funds and is made available only to Fidelity Investment professionals.

Job Description
The Fixed Income Credit Associate in Bangalore will work closely with Credit Analysts and Research Associates in Merrimack, NH on sector and project analysis. The job involves the application of GAAP accounting in both large cap, small cap and municipal sector reviews on a quarterly and ad hoc basis. The sector reviews will focus on (but not be limited
to) the organization and analysis of macro, operating and event risks/opportunities with an emphasis on isolating the most relevant factors from a fixed income investment perspective over the next six to twelve months. The analyst will also work closely with his/her NH colleagues on specific project requests (e.g. Global Handset Review, The Battle between Cable and Telecom, Healthcare Reform Legislation) and relative value analysis. The relative value work includes credit curve analysis; ratings curve analysis, cash vs. credit derivative opportunities, inter-intra sector analysis, and the utilization of proprietary credit risk models. The analyst will also be responsible for the development of overnight reports that capture price & spread changes in both the cash and derivatives fixed income market.

Qualifications
The preferred background is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from a top tier institution with 2 years of work experience in either the financial, investment or consulting industries. Strong analytical, excellent communications (written and
verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. A comprehensive understanding of U.S. based GAAP accounting is required. He/she will be comfortable working in a sophisticated, competitive, performance driven, team oriented, fixed income environment. The successful candidate should be an independent thinker with the ability to effectively articulate his/her research analysis and valuation templates.

Examples of Taxable Credit Research Work:

1. Fundamental and financial analysis on largest sectors in
Lehman’s Credit Index (LCI).
2. Creation of fundamental risk model for non-financial sectors
in LCI.
3. Creation of fundamental risk model for financial issuer’s in
LCI
4. Macro, Micro, Event Risk trend analysis in high-beta, large
cap sectors in LCI
5. Ownership of weekly fundamental/valuation reports in the
auto, energy, utility and financial institutions.
6. Development of additional weekly fundamental/valuation
reports for LCI sectors
7. Development of “market technical” overnight reports for FMR
FI largest holdings, Bond & MNY MKT
8. Development of “market technical” overnight reports for
largest issuers in LCI
