Regional HR Manager, Bangalore (Human Resources Manager)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The HRM's primary responsibility will be providing human resource
support to the APAC region, as a member of the APAC HR team.
The main internal client will be the Bangalore Engineering Center
(BEC). The HRM will take the leadership role with the recruiting drive and establishing the HR infrastructure in Bangalore. Resources in India will play a key role in the future of the organization; therefore the organization seeks a powerful and seasoned HR executive for India. This includes staffing, succession planning, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, organization development and other personnel functions.
In concert with the APAC HR Director, the HRM will provide HR council and direction on HR issues relevant to internal clients (primarily the company's Engineering Group) as these groups interface with the APAC region.
The region includes Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Fulfill recruiting requirements in the Bangalore Engineering
Center and prepare the HR infrastructure necessary to support an
employee base of up to 110 employees.
2. Insure that proper compensation levels and HR programs are
developed and maintained to motivate and retain employees in
Bangalore.
3. Maintain accurate human resource files of all employees within
India.
4. After achieving designated HR goals within the Bangalore
Engineering Center the HRM will become involved in regional HR
activities, providing HR Council and direction to internal clients as described below.
5. Work with the APAC HR Team and internal clients, in addition to
the BEC, to define short-term and long-term human resources, staffing and employee development requirements.
6. Work with the APAC HR Team and internal clients to identify
staffing needs within each country and recruit the highest quality
candidates.
7. Work with the APAC HR Team to identify the technical, professional and management training needs of employees within the region. Ensure that necessary programs are available locally.
8. Work with the APAC HR Team to insure that proper benefit levels
and programs are maintained in each APAC country. Control overall
expense through the use of cost effective programs.
9. Work with the APAC HR Team to advise and assist internal clients
on employee performance issues and actions required for improvement.
10. Work with the APAC HR Team to manage overall APAC employee
communications.

REQUIREMENTS & PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
The APAC HR Team requires a mature and seasoned human resources executive to provide stability and leadership as the BEC grows.
The successful candidate will be strategic, tactical and
willing to provide hands on HR support.

Additional requirements include: -
Business or human resources degree from a recognized university
Minimum eight years working experience in the HR field, of which at least five are as an HR generalist in a multinational company's environment.
Preferably prior experience as a recruitment or compensation
specialist
Prior experience in regional HR projects is an asset but not
required, however, the candidate must be at a point in their career
where regional HR support is a natural progression
Masters degree preferred (either HRM or MBA)
Periodic travel
