Director - Human Resources - Bangalore

This is a Director - Human Resources position based in Bangalore with matrix reporting to the Managing Director in India and functional reporting to the Sr. Corporate HR Director in the USA. But first, a few words about the company. Our client is a major software company based in the US with more than 1,200 employees that has been recognized as both a Fortune e-50 and USA Today e-business 50 company. Recently, it has earned the highest score ever measured from Forrester Research. It continues to advance its agenda in its three key markets of design/development, information convenience and mobile solutions. Throughout the past year, our client saw substantial increases in the number, size and strategic value of deals from worldwide field organization. It also completed a significant acquisition in December 2003, bringing new versions of 2 products to market while smoothly maintaining existing business, integrating processes and exploring synergies for future opportunities.

Our client's solutions for e-business enable the next generation in Web development. It offers the first open solution for addressing dynamic Web content, by strategically partnering with industry leaders to enable customers build efficient Web sites, manage production, engage & retain sustomers, personalize experiences and analyze results for complex corporate Internet, intranet and extranet sites.

Our client will be making significant investments in India over the next 6-12 months to build a substantial local presence. There are a number of key initiatives in its agenda: phase one will focus on moving part of the development center here, phase two will involve moving some of the client's back-office processes like accounting and HR either into a captive or a third-party BPO operation and phase three may be establishment of a global call centre that would generate and verify lead calls from all over the world.

This is a Senior Management position and the selected individual will oversee the working of the HR function which will include:

* Recruitment & Staffing
* Strategising, development & management of HR programs and processes
* Facilitisation of provision of HR services to employees & management
* Play the role of Custodian and interpreter of HR policies and Champion of Organizational Culture
* Owner of objectives to make company "The employer of choice" and adhere to the international benchmark of negligible employee turnover rate
* Function as a busines partner and strategist - with clear understanding of the Vision, contribute to strategy as required

In terms of profile, a TISS/XL er with 10 to 15 years' experience would be ideal. If you are not from either institute......... what the heck, many alumni of other institutes too have done well, isn't it ? Experience ideally in a US start-up and/or a US Technology company and if you have both, it won't do your chances any harm. Monies could be around the Rs. 30 L mark.
