Job Description
About R&D CoE: The R&D Center of Excellence in India was conceived to integrate and build Client’s research and knowledge management capacities. The CoE’s growing team of research professionals focus on knowledge management, market & competitive intelligence, thought leadership, solution development, strategic planning and commercialization to produce high value offerings that generate bottom line benefit for clients and the firm. They work with R&D professionals in the US to identify development priorities and influence overall firm strategy besides supporting client relationship building activities. The CoE plays a key role in communicating and commercializing the firm’s perspective to a broad audience around the world.
The R&D CoE has aggressive growth plans and is hiring across services lines and across levels to gear up to meet client requirements.

Job Description – Head of Operations (AVP)
As the Head of Operations, you will work directly with VP (R&D CoE) and manage day to day operations of the R&D CoE in India to enable effective execution. Your role is to ensure rigorous and consistent use of methodologies and processes; elimination of redundancies and overlap; delivery against SLAs with various business units; and recruitment and retention of these resources. The key responsibilities will include:

Build out of capacity : You will be responsible for hiring and training staff, development of processes, standards, and tools, and interaction with other groups (like technology and operations) to ensure appropriate support for the CoE’s research professionals
Execution: You will manage execution including overseeing effective deployment of staff and resources and ensuring procurement of necessary tools.
Resolve problems: You will help identify issues that may affect the CoE’s performance and develop solutions for these issues
Improve efficiency: You will identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency and execute special projects to take advantage of such opportunities
Network: You will network and build relationships with other departments in the larger organization in India to achieve process efficiency

Qualifications
Between 10-15 years of professional work experience that includes 3-5 years running an operation and at least two years in a research firm or environment.
Outstanding management expertise and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Highly developed personal and professional ethics will be expected of you. An ability to build professional relationships, a spirit of co-operation, and a flexible approach to work will be assets. The job demands problem-solving skills, resilience, and a positive attitude. Experience in working with US clients is a plus. Since the job requires significant coordination with US colleagues, the ability to network with US counterparts is important.
