The Position

The Sector Specialist will provide general equity research support to the Equity Research Analysts and Associates based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

The responsibilities of the Sector Specialist include the following:

o Gathering important industry data related to the assigned
sector to support Research Analysts and Associates with
stock-specific and industry presentations.

o Creating business profiles for individual companies in the
assigned sector with an emphasis on highlighting competitive
positioning, geographical and segmented financial information, profit
margin analysis, balance sheet ratio analysis and uses of cash flow.

o Updating valuation and sector sheets for the Research
Analysts and Associates on the sector team.

o Building historical financial models.

o Working closely with other Sector Specialists (both in
Bangalore and Boston), industry sources and Wall Street contacts in
order to gain important insights and knowledge within the assigned
sector.

Qualified candidates should have an MBA or CA degree. Demonstrated progress towards obtaining a CFA is desirable. The candidate should have demonstrated quantitative analysis experience, as well as strong communication skills. Experience in sourcing and manipulating data is essential, as well as advanced Excel skills. Experience using Bloomberg, Factset, StockVal and WONDA is desirable. Job Description
The Fixed Income Credit Associate in Bangalore will work closely with Credit Analysts and Research Associates in Merrimack, NH on sector and project analysis. The job involves the application of GAAP accounting in both large cap, small cap and municipal sector reviews on a quarterly and ad hoc basis. The sector reviews will focus on (but not be limited
to) the organization and analysis of macro, operating and event risks/opportunities with an emphasis on isolating the most relevant factors from a fixed income investment perspective over the next six to twelve months. The analyst will also work closely with his/her NH colleagues on specific project requests (e.g. Global Handset Review, The Battle between Cable and Telecom, Healthcare Reform Legislation) and relative value analysis. The relative value work includes credit curve analysis; ratings curve analysis, cash vs. credit derivative opportunities, inter-intra sector analysis, and the utilization of proprietary credit risk models. The analyst will also be responsible for the development of overnight reports that capture price & spread changes in both the cash and derivatives fixed income market.

Qualifications
The preferred background is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from a top tier institution with 2 years of work experience in either the financial, investment or consulting industries. Strong analytical, excellent communications (written and
verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. A comprehensive understanding of U.S. based GAAP accounting is required. He/she will be comfortable working in a sophisticated, competitive, performance driven, team oriented, fixed income environment. The successful candidate should be an independent thinker with the ability to effectively articulate his/her research analysis and valuation templates.

The major functions of the incumbent would include:

2. Managing roll out of compensation plans for the Asian commercial organization.
3. MNC Customer Coordination & Tracking for Asia.
4. Coordinating training events, new worldwide initiatives (ex: SMP), and other Ariba global events (ex: Ariba Live) for the Asia Region.


The incumbent will be guided by Finance Director (Asia) and Senior VP (Europe & Asia), and will (with buy in from his manager) have the freedom to drive projects to increase commercial efficiency as he deems fit. The incumbent will be supported by his/her manager to get buy-in from senior management for any initiatives requiring a leadership push.

The Manager will have to coordinate on a daily basis with commercial personnel across the Asia region, as well as with senior Asia Management on a regular basis. Further, he will be frequently liaising / coordinating / be the one point of contact with Ariba management in the US & EMEA for all sales operations related activities.


Specific Accountabilities

1. Lead, creating, improving & managing a formal and disciplined sales management process & analyses for Asia so as to get a better, more accurate picture of the performance of the Asian Sales Organization by:
a. Ensuring successful & accurate rollout of SFDC

b. Facilitating coordination between local account managers and global account managers.
c. Reviewing MNC accounts with senior Asia management on a quarterly basis.
